Project Description
Pneumatic conveying is a popular system used in industry to transfer materials to different points even over considerable distances through closed pipelines.
Materials transfer occurs by the combination of a vacuum difference and the flow of air or gas within the pipes.

Depending on requirements, a different gas can be used, such as nitrogen, which being inert is suitable for transporting potentially explosive materials, or for easily oxidised products.

Aim of a pneumatic conveying system is to transfer materials from one or more points to a final destination or to delivery to a further production process; these include mixing, granulation, concentration, transformation and packaging processes.

In industrial applications, there is an increasing need to transport granular or powdery materials in fluid suspension through numerous stages of the production process.

Pneumatic conveyors transfer powdery or granular solids into pipes, usually circular, by means of an air current of suitable velocity.
